Seminar description:
This in-person, half-day session will focus on building a persuasive narrative architecture in DUI cases, discussing theme and theory development, and finding your story and exhibit strategy in trial.
This is a hands-on workshop focused on trial preparation, tactics, and persuasion. Participants will analyze how to transform technical DUI evidence into a coherent theory rooted in doubt, credibility, and science limitation. (3 general CLE credits anticipated.)
CCDB social to follow with details to come. This CLE and social event is co-hosted by ADC and CCDB's Arapahoe County chapter.
Speakers: Reid DeChant and Joe Maher
Reid DeChant is the founder and managing partner of DeChant Law and a nationally recognized expert in DUI defense. He is a lifetime member of the National College of DUI Defense and the DUI Defense Lawyers Association where he is board certified. He is also recognized by the American Chemist Society as an ACS-CHAL Forensic Lawyer-Scientist.
Joe Maher is the co-founder of Maher & Maher Law. A former Marine infantry officer who served three deployments to Iraq, Joe spent five years as a prosecutor handling serious felonies and building a reputation as a highly effective trial lawyer. Over time, conviction gave way to conscience and Joe moved into criminal defense as his faith developed, his view of government power sharpened, and he came to believe that many caught in the machinery of prosecution are not hardened criminals but people who have made mistakes.
Special Welcome: Special welcome from Stacey Haveman of LifeSafer Ignition Interlock, one of CCDB's year-round sponsors.
